Bejmat is the Moroccan floor tile - a small, dense, kiln-fired terracotta rectangle. Left natural it wears in rather than out; glazed, it holds colour and light across a whole floor. We make it in our own workshops in Fès.

The layout does
as much as the colour

The same tile reads differently depending on how it is set. Herringbone gives a floor direction and movement; stacked runs quiet and architectural; diagonal opens a narrow space out. Borders and inset panels are drawn per project, and we work from your setting-out drawings.
